We would like your office visits and medical care to be as pleasant as possible....

Insurance and health care can be complicated and confusing. We have included some basic information below regarding some of our office policies to help if you encounter a problem or question regarding your care.

On Call Physicians
Northland Family Care has a physician on call at all times when our office is closed. This is for urgent health care issues that cannot wait until normal business hours. Our on call physicians WILL NOT:
Refill medications
Prescribe antibiotics
Refill or prescribe narcotic or pain medications


Failure To Keep An Appiontment
Like most medical offices, we often have to turn away patients due to our physician schedules being booked, or "full". Because of this, we do charge for appointments not kept unless they are cancelled within at least one hour of the appointment time. The charge for a "no-show" appointment is $25.00.


FMLA and Other Medical Forms
Paperwork from your employer or insurance company require a significant amount of office resources to ensure accuracy and completeness. Our office has a $40.00 fee for these services that must be paid prior to completion of these forms.


Medication Refills
Please allow at least 2 business days to process medication refills. For a prescription to be renewed, it may involve a review of medical records, labs, or other information before your doctor may approve your request. If your physician is not in the office when your request is made, this may delay your refill. Our office does try to accommodate special situations if your medication is one that may not be able to wait until your doctor returns to clinic. We ask that you contact your pharmacy for all refill requests. Your pharmacy will then contact our office for authorization to refill your prescriptions. If your medication requires prior authorization with your insurance company, our office will promptly process the paperwork - but we do not have any control over how quickly your insurance company may process our request.


Insurance Copays
Due to the contracts we carry with commercial insurance plans, we are required to collect these copays at the time of service. Because of this, we do charge $5.00 if you are unable to pay your copays during your office appointment.
